I’m Hsiao-Wei Lin, an Amis indigenous woman from Taiwan — an entrepreneur and strategist, though most people simply call me V.

I love my community deeply, yet I have struggled with identity. In society, being indigenous, from a low-income family, living with Tourette’s, or simply being a woman often placed me into boxes labeled “disadvantaged” or “special.”

That journey shaped my career. I transformed my lived experiences into expertise, becoming a consultant specializing in public-opinion strategy, brand development, and cross-industry talent management. My focus areas are women’s empowerment, DEI issues, and indigenous cultural advocacy.

Before founding Nymph Management Ltd., I worked across many roles — from entry-level jobs to years as a professional optometrist, from marketing in traditional industries and F&B to positions in the media. Today, I run my own company and serve in leadership roles across several associations. Thanks to the upbringing of my grandmother and mother, who taught me to live “without resentment,” I’ve become resilient — as hard to defeat as a cockroach in the social jungle.

With this background, I strive to challenge social structures and stereotypes. Indigenous leaders and women are not only what society imagines — we can also be key players and knowledge bearers in every industry.

The topics society often avoids are those I have felt most deeply since childhood. They have become my mission as a social entrepreneur. Drawing on my journalism background, I uncover industry stories; through constant self-learning, I analyze markets; and with strategic thinking, I help brands build trust and influence in sensitive environments.

People often joke, “How are you still alive?” The truth is, without a touch of dark humor, the world would have cast me aside long ago.
